Tulare District Hospital operates an accredited full service clinical laboratory that provides services for inpatients, outpatients and medical professionals. The lab offers routine testing, as well as many specialized tests such as hepatitis, cancer, hormone, therapeutic drugs and drug abuse, DNA probes and specialized microbiology.
The lab’s staff of 40 does approximately 500,000 tests a year with results normally available within 24 hours. Results are sent immediately to physicians by mail, fax or phone. The lab is staffed 24 hours a day and is certified by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
